Fashion has truly become an inspiration for me. With so many different muses that designers use to create lines and pieces, there are no limitations to creativity. For me, I have not always been such an outgoing, free-spirit. When I was younger, I was very shy and very quiet, and it wasn't really until high school when I stopped caring what people thought about me and began to experiment more with my style. There is a certain level of self-expression that associates with someone's style, and, I think gives sound to a character that is lacking a voice. When you like what you wear, you feel more confident with yourself: like on the first day back at school after summer vacation stuntin' in all your new, fresh clothes- except all the time, and it begins to build. That is what fashion became for me. I realized that I found too much joy in shopping for clothes and shoes, throwing together random pieces and thinking "I'll give this a try", being complimented on my aesthetic, which no, is not everything, but it was nice to know there was appreciation behind my craft. And from there, my self confidence truly did begin to build. I have found something which truly makes me happy, and it shows through my appearance and my demeanor. I am motivated to push myself forward and find where this journey will take me. The fashion industry is extremely large, and there are so many things which could become a profession for me. Since being in Los Angeles, I have worked a bit in Fashion Public Relations, branding and social media marketing and wholesale, which is just not something I would have had the opportunity to do where I was.  I am choosing to pursue a career in fashion styling. I know what fashion did for me, and helped to manifest the person I am right now, and I want to help others feel the same way. Slowly, but surely, this path is coming together, and I can't wait to see the lives I am able to touch.

One thing I never would have ever imagined doing is photo shoots. I am literally the most awkward person in the world, especially when stepping in front of a camera. Working at the hookah lounge, especially when I was new, customers would always want to know about me, and would ask if I came out here for acting or modeling. Naturally: "NO WAY". But, thinking more about it, pursuing fashion modeling did sound more realistic to me. I am trying to build my fashion platform, so taking pictures with the clothes in my closet and making them look more than basic was good to me. I am in no way looking to build a modeling career whatsoever. I am trying to display the link between myself and fashion. Being able to allow my natural self in these shots was fun to me! And I will be doing many more. So, I wish I would have recorded behind the scenes of this shoot, because it was interesting: climbing trees, scaling electrical gates, etc... could have been entertaining... next time! Living in Los Angeles has presented me with endless opportunities within the fashion industry that have allowed me to explore my talents and apply my skill to many different areas. From assisting celebrity stylists with wardrobe pulls to fashion and event PR, I believe I am finding my personal niche within the industry that I want to pursue as a career. My latest gig as a Brand Ambassador for Metropolitan Fashion Week has been my biggest push of confidence in my career path. The show's 5th Annual year, Founder and Director Eduardo Khawam has truly created a masterpiece event within the fashion industry. Showcasing haute couture gowns and formal wear created by designers all over the world, there is no limit to the creativity that has been put into this show. Not only were fashion fanatics from all over the world able to experience a fun night of couture, but MFW has committed to the cause of collecting 1 million school supplies for schools recently devastated by the natural disaste...

3 Ways to Rock an Oversized Button Down

ADD SIMPLE DETAIL  WITH YOUR FAVORITE PAIR OF RIPPED JEANS. THE SHIRT IS MID-THIGH LENGTH, SO TUCKING IN ONE SIDE IS ANOTHER SIMPLE FLARE TO ADD DETAIL AND SHOW OFF THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THE JEANS AND THE BOOTS. OBSESSED WITH MY  DISTRESSED HIGH-WAISTED SHORTS FROM  roxy.com  BECAUSE THEY ARE SO VERSATILE. SIMPLY TUCK IN THE FRONT OF THE SHIRT TO CREATE A POCKET-LIKE DETAIL. SO SIMPLE, YET SO EFFECTIVE. I WOULD WEAR THIS TO WORK AT ANGL AND THEN AT NIGHT TO THE CLUB. VERSATILE SIMPLICITY. ROCK IT ON ITS OWN! IT IS LONG ENOUGH TO BE A DRESS, SO WEAR IT JUST AS THAT! IT IS SO SIMPLE AND THE THIGH-HIGH BOOTS ADD ALL THE EDGE YOU NEED TO THIS OUTFIT.

The Professional Fashionista

I bet most of us wish the look of a professional could be whatever we wanted it to be, but, it doesn't have to be boring! I recently stepped into a position with Guess?, and though a fashion company, I still value professionalism in a retail setting. Fashion is my passion and my style represents me, so I make it a point to allow that side of me to show in any business setting. So can you!
