The Ultimate Commitment

First of all, turtlenecks are overrated and a MUST HAVE staple in every woman's wardrobe. They are so simple, yet so effective. Easily class up any outfit: high waisted denim, overalls, leggings, even jogger sweatpants. 10/10 would recommend a basic turtleneck.  Seriously obsessed with patent leather shoes right now, and you will see more of me in them in future posts. Completely living in this right now. Overalls are a serious commitment, but you gotta rock 'em and roll with 'em, and they'll work for you! Overalls: GUESS? Top: Marshalls, but the brand is unkown to me Booties: ALDO

The Professional Fashionista

I bet most of us wish the look of a professional could be whatever we wanted it to be, but, it doesn't have to be boring! I recently stepped into a position with Guess?, and though a fashion company, I still value professionalism in a retail setting. Fashion is my passion and my style represents me, so I make it a point to allow that side of me to show in any business setting. So can you! CREATIVE LOVE

Growing up, I hated the fact that I had unruly, curly hair which wasn't cute because no one else around me had curly hair. I used to hate the fact that my skin was darker than the girls and boys I went to school with and I felt lame because that made me different from everyone else. I used to hate the fact that I was interested in so many different things and when they asked me "what do you want to be when you grow up?", I felt like I was being judged because I felt like the possibilities were endless and I was weird because I didn't quite have it figured out. I used to hate the fact that other people could find one concrete sense of style where for me, one day I wanted to be sporty,  the next day girly,  chic,  urban,  and so on and so forth,  and I didn't feel normal because I was "supposed" to find a style and stick to it because I was "fake" for liking so many things.  For as long as

2017 Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala and Awards Show

Living in Los Angeles has presented me with endless opportunities within the fashion industry that have allowed me to explore my talents and apply my skill to many different areas. From assisting celebrity stylists with wardrobe pulls to fashion and event PR, I believe I am finding my personal niche within the industry that I want to pursue as a career. My latest gig as a Brand Ambassador for Metropolitan Fashion Week has been my biggest push of confidence in my career path. The show's 5th Annual year, Founder and Director Eduardo Khawam has truly created a masterpiece event within the fashion industry. Showcasing haute couture gowns and formal wear created by designers all over the world, there is no limit to the creativity that has been put into this show. Not only were fashion fanatics from all over the world able to experience a fun night of couture, but MFW has committed to the cause of collecting 1 million school supplies for schools recently devastated by the natural disaste

To live Eco-Conscious, Become Human Conscious

We are currently living in a world where we have become so consumed by instant gratification that we neglect to understand the true cost of obtaining our daily luxuries. People seem to be worried about getting to the next location without ceasing to live in the current moment and appreciate where they are, that there is no thought to the harm that their daily interactions with the earth are truly causing. To live Eco-friendly, you are choosing to live with the intention of making a positive impact in the environment around you through your daily interactions with the world to protect the natural capacity we call home as well as the living beings who inhabit it. Current events are the prime example of the situational outcome when negligence to view all people as human beings may be the most harm we could produce on this planet. And here is why: The fashion industry is the number two largest polluter in the world, closely tailing behind the oil industry. Fast fashion has become a fa

Fashion has truly become an inspiration for me. With so many different muses that designers use to create lines and pieces, there are no limitations to creativity. For me, I have not always been such an outgoing, free-spirit. When I was younger, I was very shy and very quiet, and it wasn't really until high school when I stopped caring what people thought about me and began to experiment more with my style. There is a certain level of self-expression that associates with someone's style, and, I think gives sound to a character that is lacking a voice. When you like what you wear, you feel more confident with yourself: like on the first day back at school after summer vacation stuntin' in all your new, fresh clothes- except all the time, and it begins to build. That is what fashion became for me. I realized that I found too much joy in shopping for clothes and shoes, throwing together random pieces and thinking "I'll give this a try", being complimented on my a

New Beginnings

This journey has been absolutely trying and there have been a lot of tears of frustration, however, they make this outcome that much more worthwhile. I accepted an opportunity to become a Brand Ambassador for Metropolitan Fashion Week! I have been given permission to be on board as a blogger for the event as well, so I will be vlogging and blogging coverage of the event! I am absolutely grateful for this opportunity as it may open up more doors into my career. Seven months in Los Angeles, with a rocky start, I am baffled that in such a short time, things are starting to come together the way that I have only ever imagined them to.  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Another step in the right direction, I took a full time management position with ANGL clothing, a Los Angeles-based clothing brand. I haven't worked retail, full-time since I left Pennsylvania, so I am super excited to start this journey.  I am also building a YouTube platform where I am

Hey, Young People

I have never felt stronger about independence until I took a leap and United Airlines 2,360 miles and planted myself in Los Angeles, California from the small town of Boyertown, Pennsylvania. Do not get me wrong, I have always felt myself to be self-sufficient and independent: started working when I was 14 years old, relied on myself to carry my own burden of emotions as well as help others push through their own. However, independence took on an entirely new meaning for me when I learned to build a new life for myself, completely starting over. It’s amazing to me that I hear “I can’t believe you did that.. you’re so brave!... good for you... I could never do that”. I literally just think to myself: ‘well why not?’ I honestly believe that more people should do it. Yes, I am talking to the young souls who feel trapped in the circumstances that they find themselves simply because comfort and fear hinder them from reaching out. However, I see too many people unhappy in the predicament

A Girl Like Me.

There is nothing I love more than a good story to tell. I swear to you that my life is far from normal. And, though all situations unique, I believe that mine has the potential to inspire another. That will not come without a completely raw set of experiences to share that another may compare. My goal is to touch lives and instill hope; that one day, for all of us, together things may change for the better. I want my voice to be heard somewhere, somehow, and pursue love as the outlet to it all. I am not sure if this is the right way to do it, but I cannot truly connect with souls unless you trust me as I expose the secrets of my depths. There is one thing for certain, here, and that is that the universe seeks the favor of those who speak positivity into existence, even from the most seemingly negative of circumstances. With now your acceptance, I want to allow my journey through life inspire the weak-hearted: those who cannot seem to believe in themselves simply because no one else will
